Hryvnia (Hr) – is the national currency of Ukraine since 1996. You have to know that only the next paper bills denominations are usually accepted– 1,2,5,10,20,50,100 and 200. 1,2,5,10, 20 and 50 hrynvias paper bills have two variants. So do not get confused!As for kopecks (Ukrainian coins) – 1,2,5,10,25 and 50 kopecks are nationally accepted. Be sure to change your currency in a respected bank in order to avoid fraud. You can also use your Visa or Master card to pay your bill at a restaurant or in the hotel. But still Ukrainians prefer cash! The credit card industry is not so developed in Ukraine. So be ready to become a cash-carrier!
